First Zoo Trip

The morning showed signs of sun, so we packed up and went to the zoo. McKenna loved all the animals and was very tired at the end of the day. We ended up getting season tickets so we can take her up more often. It will be much warmer soon - hopefully!

Cow Tantrum

Right by our mail boxes there is a small pasture with cows...yeah, it is right in the middle of a housing development, but they were there first I guess. Every day McKenna points to the cows and makes a mooing sound. She loves to watch the cows.

Well, yesterday it was kind of windy so we let her watch them for a minute and then told her it was time to go. She obeyed and started following us home when all of the sudden she started throwing a fit about leaving. She flailed her arms up and down, while screaming, and flung herself to the ground. In her tantrum state, she forgot to put her hands out and her face was the first thing to hit the sidewalk. That is why our daughter now looks like Rudolph! I thought I had another year before the terrible twos!

My Baby is Looking Like a Toddler!

It seems like McKenna woke up one morning and decided to be a toddler. She is supposed to be my baby, but all the looks she gives and the things she does have toddler written all over her. As much as I miss some of the baby things, I do have to say that I think I love this part of her life the best so far! She is so fun to play with, she talks and sings all the time, and when she is feeling generous she gives me the best kisses and hugs - I am getting more and more each day! Who knew that raising a kid was going to be so much fun ... I will have to come back to this statement when she is a teenager. Here are some pictures of her this week.

Uncle Kyle came over and played! She yells "one" or "two" or "three" whenever he is around. Kyle then knows it is his turn to throw her in the air - she loves it! This day Kyle put her in a balloon and she kept going to Jade to get it off.

Pig Tails! We finally have enough hair for them.
I think that maybe she had enough of the camera.
This is what I see every time I take her diaper off - a little butt running away! It is hard to not laugh.

We Are Having A...

BOY. So, the baby had all the right parts and McKenna will soon have a baby brother. McKenna might make him play with pink toys and put bows in his hair, but that is how life goes when you have an older sister.

Hello, Hello

McKenna has always loved music and has been singing from an early age. The other morning I was taking her to the babysitter and singing to her when all the sudden she started singing it back to me. I have to admit, it is not perfect but it is so dang cute! This song is one from primary that she has always loved. Oh, and her tongue is just a hanging out - yeah, that is my husband's doing!

Miniature Golfing

The temperature went a few degrees over 50 today so we were out of the house and looking for something to do in the fresh air. We decided to take McKenna miniature golfing. She loved being outside and insisted on walking the entire course by herself. She figured out the point of the game pretty fast and would stand by the hole and point to it every time we missed. Although she felt the need to coach our misses, she also was a great cheerleader and clapped everytime we made it! She did try to hit the ball with the gofl club, but after a few hits she decided it was easier to pick up the ball and put it in the hole! It was so fun! I can't wait until we can be outside more often - I need the sun!

Potty Training - Kind Of

Because we have another child on the way and I do not want to be doing two sets of diapers for years, we decided to get McKenna used to the potty. We bought her a cute and soft pink toilet that she loves to tote around the house with her! We put her on the toilet first thing in the morning when she wakes up. At first she screamed! Then on about the third day she decided to try it out. We are now going on almost two weeks of peeing in the potty. We have not yet decided to put her on the potty at any other time of the day - she can't tell us when she needs to go yet. Hopefully this will make potty training go better when she is ready.

We Are So Lucky

I really have to brag about my adorable daughter for a minute! She is such an easy baby and I love her so much! Jade and I bought her this shirt because it fit her perfectly - 99% Angel: Nobody's perfect. She has her moments, but all in all we do have an angel of a daughter.
Sorry about not posting more often but we have been kind of boring lately - just hanging out, playing with McKenna.
