Waking Up Is Hard To Do

McKenna has a hard time waking up in the morning when I need to go to work, so Jade and I usually have to wake her up. She is much more pleasant if she can gradually wake up. I take her out of her crib and put her on our bed, unwrapping her from her blanket - this usually does the trick, she stretches and wakes herself up in a few minutes. Well, this morning McKenna had no desire to stop sleeping. Below is the sequence we went through this morning - I completely undressed her without a stir from her. Once she was changed, fed, and dressed she was a happy, smiling baby! I love every little thing about being a mom...maybe I am crazy but these little things are just too cute!

Rolling?

McKenna has decided to take her time with rolling. She can roll from her back to her stomach but has only done it a few times. She seems perfectly content laying on her back and talking to her toys.

Thumb

McKenna has found her thumb and whenever we are not looking she sneeks it in her mouth. All we have to do is look at her and she pulls it out and yells at us! It is kind of funny.

Jade's Graduation

Jade walked this past Thursday and Friday at BYU's graduation! We are so glad that he is done - no more one o'clock in the morning working days. Jade started working in January and has enjoyed teaching the kindergarten through third grade resource students. The district asked him to work with the junior high behavior unit students next year and he said yes...I think he is crazy! McKenna did really well on Thursday (she even flirted with the guy sitting behind us). But Friday morning she decided that she had had enough of graduation business and no longer wanted to sit. Jade got to be the traditional BYU grauduate, taking pictures in his robe with a baby! We had a good time and we are so proud of him!

Our Spring Break

We went home to Washington for spring break. It is nice for us both to have the same breaks and time off. Jade and I just lounged around the entire week and had a blast! Jade thinks this is how summer is going to be - yeah right... I'll put him to work if he doesn't get another job! McKenna was really spoiled while we were there. She really is going to be a drama queen, she likes all the attention on her! My mom bought her the cutest sunglasses with UV protection so her eyes don't get hurt in the sun! While we were at home one day Jade and I saw four deer running through my parents' yard - it was really neat!
McKenna likes standing with Grandpa, but just for a little bit!

McKenna attacks my mom with kisses! It is really funny. She grabs her face and yells while slobbering all over my mom!

McKenna woke up with a cold in her eye the day we left for Washington and it continually got worse. She was so stuffed up - I felt so bad for her. The whistling you hear is from her!

I curled McKenna's hair with a tiny curling iron. Her hair sticks up anyway, why not curl it?

Sitting and Standing on Her Own...Kind Of

Kyle was holding McKenna by her butt and feet to see if she could steady herself. She did really well with the sitting, but still needs some work on the standing.

Babies Grow Up Too Fast

I have just now realized how big McKenna is getting. I put her in an outfit that used to be huge on her and it was tight. She sure is cute, but before I know it she isn't going to want to cuddle with me anymore!
