Two Weeks Old

We took River to his two week appointment today and learned that he is an extremely healthy boy! He now weighs 10 pounds, which is the 84%, and he grew 3 inches! He is now 23 inches which puts him in the 99% - they measured him twice to make sure he really grew that much!
River's umbilical cord finally fell off so I was able to give him a real bath! And he loved it!
I can't believe how lucky we are to have two beautiful, healthy kids! We love them both!
Below are just some random pictures. McKenna wanted to "cheese" with "momma" and "Rirer."

Pioneer Day Outfits

Look at how dang cute my kids are! My mom and dad bought them these outfits and they wore them to Jade's family reunion yesterday. McKenna's little bonnet was perfect for the pioneer day celebration! McKenna enjoyed getting to hold River on her own!
She has also decided that when I am not feeding River the Boppy needs to go around her waist! What a silly girl! She is turning out to be a big help with River (at times!).

Miss You Already

My mom left today and McKenna freaked out! She was screaming as we left the airport, which woke River up and he started crying. It has been so nice to have my mom here to help out. It is hard to live so far away but I am so lucky that my family comes to see us so often! Thanks for coming to spend time with us! We love you!

"Love You"

McKenna started saying "love you" today. Did mom or dad get the first "love you"? Of course not, Grandma did! She has been saying it to us since! We sure do love her!

I'm In Love

When I found out I was pregnant with River, I didn't think it would be possible to love two little ones as much as I love McKenna. Wow, was I wrong. McKenna is my spunky, fun, and loving little girl. River is my adorable, cuddly, and sweet little boy. They both bring so much joy into my life!
River is such a great cuddler! I am glad I get to just sit around and relax for the next few weeks! McKenna never liked her swing when she was little, but now it is fun to sit where the baby was.
We are going to have a hard time keeping McKenna away from the swing while River is in it! My mom was holding River and so McKenna wanted to lay down with them too! I am so happy that my mom is here to help - McKenna loves Grandma!
McKenna has started being a great mommy! She is so helpful with River - she takes all the diapers to the garbage! Today she decided her baby had gone "poo-poo" and had to change it.

And We're Home

It is always nice to come home from the hospital - I get a little stir crazy! I was happy to relax at home with my mom, Jade, McKenna, and River. He is such a precious little boy! He loves to cuddle and I love it!
McKenna has been such a trooper and has decided that she loves him now!We are so lucky because she only wants to hold him and hug him for a little bit and then she leaves him alone.
My mom and dad are thrilled to have three babies to dress up! They are so adorable!

River Jade Andersen

River came into the world at 4:39pm on July 15, 2009. He is a huge boy, weighing 9 pounds 4 ounces, 20 inches long, with long fingers and toes, and huge hands!
We went into the hospital at 10:00am and they put me on the antibiotic for the Group B. My doctor came at 1:00pm to break my water and start labor. At 4:20pm I was at a 6+ and 19 minutes later River was born! I have the most amazing doctor and was able to get this huge kid here without any ripping - I feel fantastic! River came so fast down the birth canal that his poor little face got bruised. The nurses and doctors say it will go away in a few days.
My mom and Ashley were able to be there for the birth and I was so thankful to have the extra support in the labor room, I am so lucky to have such great family members that are willing to come share in special moments like this.
McKenna loved kissing my belly and saying "Baby Rirer." This is a picture in the morning and then a picture of her meeting River out of my stomach. She likes to say "Baby," but is not sure she wants him to stick around, luckily my mom is here to help give her lots of attention. If you ask her if River is part of our family she will tell you "NO." Her family members are momma, dadda, and Miley.
I love this first picture of River, it looks exactly like a picture of McKenna when she was born - look at December 2007. Ashley has said that she still wants to have babies after being in the labor room! That is a great thing because I was afraid I had scared her having River naturally!
Thatcher Grandbabies! A ton can happen in 18 short months!
Jade is so happy to have a baby boy and to not have to hear me complain about being fat and pregnant! We are so excited that he is here and can't wait to watch him and McKenna start to interact! Being a mom is the best thing in the world!

Happy Fourth of July

Today we started our celebration of the fourth by going to the Freedom Parade in Provo. McKenna absolutely loved it! She did not take her eyes off the parade the entire time! She waved at every float, danced to the marching band music, and giggled at the big balloon floats! She was extremely tired after the parade and zonked out on the ride home.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home and then going to a BBQ at Jade's parents. Luckily it was kind of overcast so I did not die in the heat! Usually I love the heat of the summer, but right now I say bring on the rain and thunderstorms!

New Bathing Suit

My parents got McKenna, Tessa, and the new baby matching summer outfits. We are going to take pictures of McKenna and Tessa tomorrow, but the bathing suit was so cute that I had to have McKenna try it on today! We had so much fun putting the bathing suit on - it was a little hard to get it over her badonkadonk! Thanks for the adorable outfit grandma and grandpa!

Children's Museum

We took McKenna to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake today. She had so much fun running around and playing with all the toys.
It was fun to see her interact with the other kids and for the most part she did really well - there were plenty other toys to move onto if we told her to share! One little boy was really mean to her though when he yelled at her - and I mean yelled - because she got too close to the toy he was playing with. She came crying to us, it was really sad - I wanted to go make the little boy cry too, but I restrained myself and moved McKenna to another play area.
She loved sitting in all the little chairs and played house with a baby doll for a while. I guess she is just getting ready to help out with the baby that will soon be here - at least I hope he will be here SOON! I can't believe that McKenna won't be the center of our lives in a little bit - we are going to have to share our attention and love with another baby - it just doesn't seem like you can love two little beings that much. Good thing your heart has room to grow!
