McKenna Dean Andersen

McKenna Dean was born on Wednesday, December 26th at 12:38pm. She weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces (my weight when I was born) and was 20 inches long. She is a healthy baby girl with tons of hair and we love her! My mom made it to the hospital just in time for me to push McKenna out (my labor was only five and a half hours - lucky me!) and my dad surprised me by showing up last night! Here are only a fraction of the millions of pictures we already have of this little one.
This isn't so bad.
Oh, yes it is!

Baby Update
No, I do not have a baby yet....but we should have one by the end of the day. My doctor is going to induce me today. This baby is a little teaser and I have been having contractions since yesterday morning - she wants to come out but then decides she likes it inside my stomach! It is three o'clock in the morning now and the baby has decided to wake me up with more contractions, so maybe we will go to the hospital and I won't have to have the pitocin after all. I will post pictures as soon as I can - Jade will try to email pictures later tonight...that is if she is here by then (LET"S HOPE!). We had a great Christmas and hope everyone else did too! I added some pictures of our Christmas below.
Jade got me this beautiful nativity - I wanted it the first time I saw it in the stores.

Miley couldn't figure out how to get the bone out of the wrapping paper - we opened it and had peace for a long time while we opened our presents. When she was finished with the bone she helped clean up by taking my wrapping paper to Jade as I unwrapped gifts.
Here Jade is opening a gift at his mom and dad's house - notice the Blue Tooth in his ear. He didn't take it off after opening it yesterday...it was his new toy!
This is the adorable charm bracelet my parents got me...it has all kinds of cute baby charms on it. Now, if we could get this baby here we will be in business!Sunday, December 23, 2007
No Baby Yet
I don't have a baby in my arms yet! And since we don't have pictures of a new baby to show you I will post one of Miley. Miley is getting ready for the baby by showing that she can be gentle. She got this bear from my mom's kids meal the other day and carried it everywhere with her. She ended up sleeping with it on her pillow downstairs. The next day she destroyed it - oh well, it is a work in progress.

Happy Holidays
I am hoping that I will have this baby soon and I will not have time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas so I will do it now! Here is our family picture - the fourth member of our family still deciding to stay in my stomach! My mom came into town to be here for the baby's birth and it looks like she might not be here after all since she leaves on Monday. We have had a lot of fun having her around - Jade enjoys not having to be the only one at home with a 39 week pregnant person. This past weekend we went up to Temple Square in Salt Lake to see the lights and it made me remember how special this season is. I love being around family and friends during the holidays and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family - my mom has been patiently waiting for this baby to come and Staci is putting off seeing her boyfriend even longer to stay here with me. Presents are great to get on Christmas, but I am more thankful for having people around that care for and love me. This baby is a lucky person to have so many people excited about her coming into this world - she will be perfectly spoiled! If she decides to come on Christmas Day I guess there is no other better present than a new baby - even if it means I have to wait four more days.
I am so happy to have this season to remember another baby that was born who gave us something to believe in. Jade and I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope that you have a wonderful time with family and friends.

Still Pregnant
Yes, I am still pregnant. I feel like this child is just going to grow up inside of me!!! I have tried everything to get her out...all of the home remedies and folk myths suggested to me have not worked. I even tried castor oil - it just made me sick. I have eaten spicy food, whole pineapples, eggplant, and black licorice (yuck!). I take a vigorous walk every day - in fact, I have jogged a few times. My mom printed off what seems like an entire book on accupressure. My mom and Staci then proceeded to do the exercises to the point where I think I will have bruises the rest of my life! (Just joking!) The doctor stripped my membranes - nothing has happened and it has been three days. I think this child is just showing me that she can be more stubborn than I can be - Jade and I are in for a treat with this one. Hopefully I have her this weekend. I will keep you posted.

The Finished Nursery
The nursery is finally finished - almost...a shelf still needs to be put up. The crown molding ended up being harder than anticipated. We have five corners in the nursery - three of them are the easy regular corners - two are rounded. My dad and Jade worked on them forever over Thanksgiving week and could not get it to work. Finally Jade figured it out last night - with the help of calking which
covers up the gaps! We now have a place for this baby when she decides to come out!
