Wind Fest

We went to the Spanish Fork Wind Fest this weekend at the Spanish Fork Reservoir. They had a professional kite flying show and the kids got to make kites to fly. It was really, really hot with no wind so the kite flying did not go as planned - but we had fun anyway! I am so lucky to have all my siblings here - McKenna loves her aunts and uncles and I love being able to see my favorite people more often. I love each and everyone of them! - And I am so glad that my husband likes them as much as I do, he gets to see them a lot now!
Ashley was a good sport and tried to help McKenna fly her kite!
We eventually gave up and let her drag it around while she ran some energy off!

Swimming

We took River swimming for the first time today! He loved the water and McKenna loved that her brother was in the water with her! She is in love with him!

River's Blessing

We blessed River today and Jade did a wonderful job. I am so grateful that I have a husband who holds the priesthood and can give our kids that special gift. Because of the temple dedication here in Utah, there was no church so we held the blessing in front of family only. It was nice to have every there - my kids really have a lot of people who loves them very much. We had a BBQ at the house afterward.
We are so happy that River came to our family and feel blessed to have his sweet little spirit with us. He is a calm baby who will try to get your attention to smile at you. He really is a wonderful addition to our family. We love you River.

Sleepy Kids

McKenna loves to cuddle now that River gets held all the time. It can be interesting to find a spot for her with me on the rocking chair while I am nursing River, but I love having both my kids with me especially now that I am back at work. While I was feeding River one day, McKenna crawled up on my lap and fell asleep at about the same time River did! I really couldn't move if I had wanted to.

McKenna's Mini Vacation

McKenna ended up staying with my parents in Washington for a week after we left so we could get our classrooms ready for the school year without having to have her cooped up in our rooms with us. She had so much fun with everyone in Washington and got completely spoiled! Staci ended up buying her something from Target each time they went - she really is a sucker! It was nice to have the time to work in my classroom and McKenna had a blast, but I was really excited to have her come home - I missed her terribly...I even cried at the airport when she came running to me - what a boob!
One really cool thing came out of her being in Washington for so long is that now she holds full conversations on the phone! She told me that she loved me every time I talked to her - I love her so much!

Happy Anniversary

Jade and I have been married for four years now! I cannot believe that we now have two kids, a house, and a dog...time flies - but on the other hand I cannot remember life without him. He is an amazing husband and dad, even if I don't tell it to him enough. He has given me my two most precious blessings in the world and I am so happy to share the rest of eternity with him. I really am a lucky girl!

Washington Trip with Two Kids

We braved the airplane ride with two kids the first week in August so I could go to Staci's bridal shower. We even decided to fly stand by on my mom's benefits because it is so cheap! Well, stand by was not as great as we had hoped. After not making it on three flights from Salt Lake to Seattle, my mom told us to hop on a plane to Pasco, Washington. My dad drove four hours to come pick us up...while McKenna played for two hours at the airport! And then he had to drive four more hours with us to get home! Love you dad!
We had a wonderful time while we were there...of course I forgot to take pictures while we were there - watching out for two kids gives me no time to take pictures any more! Then we left McKenna with my parents and sisters to come back to work.
We didn't make it on the plane from Seattle to Salt Lake either! My mom ended up driving us to Portland where we made it on a plane to Salt Lake. My kids were amazing troopers during waiting and plane rides - River slept the whole time the first flight and smiled at me the whole second flight. Still, I think we will spend the money next time to ensure a seat!

Our Family

It seems like we never get a picture with all of us in it. And really, who cares about Jade and me - the kids are so much cuter - but I thought I would post this picture of our now four person family!
