My Cute Girl

Even without hair on the right side of her head, McKenna still is the most precious little girl! She kept coming up to me and giving me kisses when I was tearing up about her hair! I love her so much!

Her new face is the picture below on the left. She expects you to make the face back at her when she does it to you! The other one is what she did after her and I were laughing - she needed a moment to catch her breath I guess!

First Hair Cut

McKenna got her first hair cut today and it wasn't at a beauty salon. While at the babysitters, our niece decided that McKenna's pony tail was too long and cut it off. My sister-in-law felt awful, but hair grows back and for some reason hair is a fascinating thing to cut. McKenna now has a mullet on the right side of her head - no more pony tails or pig tails for a long time. It actually is not terrible - from the front you cannot tell. I did have my crying moment after I saw her and it was more about the realization of not seeing her in her adorable pig tails than the actual look of the hair.

Here she is telling me that her hair should belong on her head! She is such a silly girl.

Here are some close ups of the bald spot. Luckily, her hair is so fine and light that it kind of blends.

We went to this cute little salon in town to see what we could do with her hair. They were so nice and told me to just wait to cut it and then showed me these bows that are "No Slippy Hair Clippies." They have a magnet and fabric on them so they won't fall out. At least these bows will hold her "comb over" for the next few months until her hair grows out and we go get it trimmed evenly.

Spinning

While in Washington, McKenna found a new hobby - spinning! She had an audience all day, every day, so she had to figure out new tricks to do. She spins all the time now and a lot faster than this. As long as people are still laughing, she will spin! Some of her other new things picked up in Washington are: the sentences "I want down" and "I want more," saying prayers with her arms folded, and screaming "MOMMY" at the top of her lungs when she wants anything! Thanks for keeping McKenna entertained family! We already miss you Grandma and Grandpa! We wish Washington wasn't so far away.

Woodland Park Zoo

For spring break we went to Washington to visit my parents and sisters. It is always so nice to go and see them, plus McKenna LOVES it! On Friday we went to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle with my sister Ashley.

Looking at a hippo and a tiger!!! A crazy mom allowed her son (about six years old) to climb the railing in front of the tiger's cage and sit with his legs out in the cage! Some people are not very smart.

McKenna got to feed and pet goats and other animals at the Family Farm. A peacock walked along a trail with us for a while, McKenna wasn't too sure she wanted it to get any closer.

This otter played with McKenna for a little bit, but we could never get it in the picture with her reaching for him. He always swam out of the screen when the picture was actually taken! She wanted to get in the water with him.

McKenna likes all the statues at zoos - they are not as scary as the real animals. We did get to see the bears up real close this visit and McKenna cried when we left! We had a great day, McKenna loves animals!

Watching Basketball with Dad

While I cleaned the house today, McKenna and Jade watched some basketball. McKenna loves to watch basketball and I was lucky enough to catch her relaxing with her dad instead of running around the room yelling, "Basketball!"

Easter

The Easter Bunny came to McKenna today and he was very nice to her. She got a basketball standard! She loves basketball and so she has been playing it all day. She knows exactly what to do. She was also equally enthralled with her new shoes! We have a girly-girl who loves sports. It was really fun to have her so excited about the Easter Bunny coming - she doesn't understand the Bunny part, but she sure did understand the getting gifts part!

Basketballs and shoes, along with everything else, go into the hoop now!

We never did get a good Easter picture of her and she was adorable in her outfit. Here are some pictures to show off her personality...don't ask her to do anything she does not want to do - oh, like put a hat on and take a picture! I am sure my parents are loving this because I have no doubt in my mind that my daughter has gotten her attitude and stubborness from me.

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to the city Easter Egg Hunt this morning. She thought it was so fun to pick up the eggs and put them in her basket. Jade and I got her a cute outfit, thinking it would be warmer, but no luck...we dressed her in it anyway and bundled her up in a coat and blankets.

Later we went to Jade's parents and the rain let up for a while so we could have another egg hunt. McKenna only had two of her eggs by the time her cousins were done finding their eight - she was taking her time. We did find them all and she loved every minute of it. I LOVE this age! She always makes me smile!

Easter Eggs

We had Kyle and Jen over for Easter dinner tonight - a couple days early but that is how it worked out with the in-law plans. McKenna loved having her aunt and uncle around to pay attention to her! McKenna wanted to hold Tessa and she did a wonderful job of being gentle. Jade and I realized once again how tiny babies are and can't believe we will have another one soon.

After they left we died Easter eggs. McKenna liked watching us dip the shrink wrapped ones in the boiling water. We had to keep her away from the eggs after a little bit though because she wanted to throw them! We ended up with two mutilated eggs!

My mom and dad sent McKenna an Easter package today and she started in on the candy right away! They gave her a book, which she loves! Here she is dancing to the music! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
