Halloween

We had so much fun on Halloween! McKenna was so excited about getting candy! She looked so cute in her witch costume.

River was an adorable little spider, his clothes underneath doubled as a robber!

McKenna trick or treated on Main Street after a carnival at our church. Staci, Chris, and Ashley joined us. That evening McKenna trick or treated at Jade's grandparents and Staci and Chris's house - they gave her a light up glitter ball! We decided she had enough loot from the afternoon and went home. She thought it was so much fun to have people coming to our door all night and ate way to much candy! Kyle and Jen brought Tessa over in her unicorn costume. It was so much fun to have McKenna so excited about the holiday! We can't wait to see her on Christmas morning, we are already using Santa as a bribe to keep her from being naughty!

Pumpkin Carving and Halloween Crafts

With McKenna feeling better, we finally carved our pumpkins. It was really fun to see McKenna try to carve them - she was all about trying to get the sharp objects and shove them into the pumpkins! Staci, Chris, Ashley, and Ashley's friend, Tori, came to carve and frost cookies.
McKenna is so ready to get candy today! She has been practicing saying "Trick or Treat" ever since my dad told her people would give her candy!

My mom and dad gave the kids these adorable outfits! River looks so much like McKenna it is crazy!

My friend at work did a cute craft with the younger kids at school so she gave me some extra supplies to make a bat, spider, and ghost out of plates. McKenna loved it and they are hanging on our fridge right now!

Giggles

River started giggling a while ago but we never got it on video. Here is the video for all to enjoy! We love him so much!

Our Sick Girl

On Sunday afternoon, McKenna woke up with a really high temperature. We watched her and she seemed to be okay...maybe a little off, but not bad. She didn't sleep very well that night, so we didn't sleep either. Jade didn't feel very good on Monday so he stayed home with the kids. By the time I got home from school, my little girl sounded like a smoker. She was coughing and wheezing and couldn't even talk normal. We called the doctor and the nurses told us that if we weren't too worried that it was probably a virus and we could make the decision to come in or not - we decided to wait. We had another sleepless night. Jade took her to the doctor the next morning and they ended up admitting her to the hospital! Her oxygen levels were really low and they thought she had pneumonia. Jade called me at school and I was able to leave thanks to the wonderful people that work there! They gave her breathing treatments and took x-rays at the hospital. It ended up not being pneumonia, only croup. They sent us back to the doctor where they gave McKenna a shot of some type of steroids and we were then able to go home. My dad surprised us and flew down to watch her on Wednesday. She seemed to be getting better but on Thursday woke up with a temperature of 102 degrees. We had to take her to the doctor again for yet another shot. Staci told us she would watch the kids for us while we went to school. (I have a wonderful family!) Staci even brought McKenna a tutu and a pink horse because she was sick. McKenna seems 100% better, she still has a little bit of a cough. Now we just have to hope that River doesn't get it. I always feel so bad when my kids are sick - you want to fix it but can't.

On one good note, McKenna seemed to get an upset stomach because of the steroids. She was asking to go on the toilet because she didn't want to go in the toilet. She gets a piece of gum when she goes on the toilet and so she had to take a picture of it to show grandma and grandpa. Now we have that down - if only she would pee on the toilet!

Hee Haw Farms

We went to Hee Haw farms this week with Staci, Chris, Jen, Kyle, and Tessa. It was so much fun! They have a ton of things to do and McKenna loved it! Ashley was sick and we missed her - it really was a fun family outing! We all went on a hay ride and McKenna pointed out all the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch!

Jade was the chosen one to go on the animal tractor ride with McKenna! She wanted to go in the pig barrel. McKenna loves looking at animals, but when Jade tried to get her to pet the animals she decided to be shy.

She loved the horse saddle swings! And wanted to see how tall she was.

It was chilly so the kids where all bundled up and River stayed in the wrap under the blanket the whole time - he was very content! McKenna loves to be the oldest cousin - she loves the babies!

McKenna Loves Clothes!

We are in big trouble! - McKenna loves shoes and clothing. While we were in Washington for Staci and Chris's wedding, McKenna told my Aunt Janet that she wanted to go shopping with her. So Janet bought her some new outfits! She loves these new boots and wanted to take pictures of them! Thanks Janet!

Teething

River is teething! Can you believe it? My due date must have been wrong ... he was like two months old when he came out!

Sick Day

McKenna woke up with a fever today and I got to stay home with her to help her feel better. She was so good and just wanted to be cuddled all morning.

I put her to sleep for her nap and she slept for about three and a half hours. I finally went into the room instead of just listening at the door and I found her up with all of her toys out of her baskets and on her bed. She must have been up for a while playing quietly with her toys!

She felt better after that and helped me clean the house - she loves to vacuum.

I loved getting to stay home with my kids in the middle of the week! - even if it is when they are sick.

Jumping Jacks

We went to my cousin's little girl's birthday party at a place called Jumping Jacks. It has all these blow up toys. McKenna was very iffy about the whole thing at first but then loved it! She even went down this big, steep slide multiple times. She is a little daredevil when she wants to be! Thanks for the invite Chris and Aubrey!

Growing Up

River is growing up way too fast! He already wants to stand on your lap and is sitting in the Bumbo. He is going to be running around pretty soon and I am going to be wondering where the time went.

Yes, the Bumbo is pink - we can't decide if we are going to get a new one...he doesn't care about the color!

Big Girl Bed

We made McKenna's crib into a toddler bed! She has done really well with it, she still calls for us in the morning and wants us to come get her out of bed.

The first night she fell asleep in the bed and was so cute we took a picture - we found her out of her bed in the morning. We don't know if she got out on her own, or fell out!
