Don't Forget

You know those little stories that make you not know whether to laugh at your kids or kick them in the butt? I know that later in life I am going to want to remember them, so here goes the good, the bad, and the ugly.

At dinner one Sunday, McKenna tells my sisters, Jade, Chris, and I all to "Be Quiet." When we ignore her and keep talking, she states this request louder. We all look at her and she rolls her eyes and says "Chill."

River and McKenna are going to be terrors together. When McKenna does something naughty, River encourages her by giggling and shrieking at her. What fun!

Recently, McKenna had her first real accident in a store...which means, I had my first clean up in the store. Pee running down her leg, puddling on the tile floor (thank goodness), while she stands there silently looking at me. I think I wore out the words "I'm Sorry" that day.

And the kicker ... please don't judge me too badly.
McKenna got mad at me and screamed at me. We placed her on time out. When her two minutes were up I went to talk to her. I told her that yelling and screaming were not nice and that we didn't want to scream and be mean. With a straight face she looked at me and said, "Like you!" What a lovely parenting moment! :)

At the end of the day, I couldn't ask for more loving kids. I do love them - although I threaten to sell them to the highest bidder sometimes - I think I'll keep them.

Slides

I have been trying to become a jogger lately - it is coming very slowly. The kids love the morning jog because it means they get to go to the park! River has not had any interest in the slides until McKenna decided she would take him. These two are so dang cute together!

And He's Cruising

River is so big - how do they grow up so fast? He wants to be into everything like his sister and crawling just is not cutting it anymore. He will be running before we know it.

Why????

Why is my husband sticking tweezers up our daughter's nose?

Really? What would give a child the idea that sticking a handful of toilet paper up your nose would be more fun than just going to sleep? Where did she come from?

Learning Her ABCs

We have been doing preschool now that I am home everyday. She really is a smart little girl - and she loves the one-on-one attention from mom.
