Baby Update

The baby is still in me for the moment. Yesterday I went to my appointment and the doctor did a uterus check. I am dilated one and a half centimeters with thirty percent thinning. So in other words, I could have this baby in two days or I could walk around like this for three weeks. Let's hope it isn't three weeks!!!! I can't believe she is actually coming - the past nine months have flown by....let's just hope the next couple of weeks don't feel like nine more months!

My mom sent me this adorable onsie for the baby and I thought it was funny! I am sure I will get tons of advice - in fact, it has already started! I guess you just nod your head and smile!

Miley and a Baby

My family, including my grandma and grandpa, came to Utah for the Thanksgiving holiday since I am very fat and pregnant. My cousin and his wife came over to the house for Thanksgiving dinner and brought their little girl that is a year old. We had a great time and I was so thankful to be surrounded by family - it gave me something to take my mind off the constant feet in my ribs!
My cousin's little girl, Jenni, kept pounding on the sliding glass door and yelling for the dog so we let Miley in to see how she would do with the baby! It was so cute to see them interact. Jenni giggled the entire time and followed Miley everywhere. She wanted to crawl underneath Miley at all times, Miley would freeze and let her crawl under her legs for fear that she would step on her! We have it on video but I am retarded right now and cannot seem to figure out how to upload the video so pictures will have to do.
We don't have to worry about Miley being good with babies now, she proved herself this past week! Look at how calmly Mileystands there while Jenni pulls on her tail. I guess she better get used to it, soon she will have a baby around all the time that will want to pull on her tail, ears, and hair!

Baby Stuff Everywhere

Yesterday Jade's family had my baby shower and I got a lot of great things...but it made me realize that I had no more room to put them in the closet - Kyle has not found a place to live yet so his stuff is still in the nursery closet.
Staci doesn't have school all next week so she came into town on Friday. That meant I had someone to help me put together the baby furniture! We put together the changing table on Friday night and on Saturday night Jade helped us with the crib. We still need to put the dresser together, but since Kyle's bed is in the office we put a twin bed in the nursery for Staci to sleep in and there is no more room. We stuffed as many baby items in the crib and on the changing table as we could, most of the clothing is still in the closet in the office. I hope we can get everything squared away before this baby decides to come - last night I felt like she was kicking herself out! I even called my mom to make sure it was normal.
My mom got a belly cast kit for me to make a mold of my pregnant belly! We will see how it turns out - some people put a picture of their baby's ultrasound on the belly with their name. We'll have to see if it turns out. I'll post a picture of it when we are done!

Second Attempt at the Nursery

After Jade did all that work on the Nursery I ended up not liking it. The colors were too dark and too close together ... I felt like I was inside of a circus tent, we just needed the theme music going on in the background. So after I shed quite a few tears we went to buy new paint - lighter colors. Before we measured out the stripes Jade had me get butcher paper and tape it to the wall to decide what to do. After my wonderful husband spent yet another weekend painting I ended up with beautiful nursery walls! I will post more pictures of the nursery as we finish it off - my dad is going to help us put a window frame up and crown molding plus we have to put all the furniture in!
Here is the paper on the wall - we tried alot of different ways but settled on 18 inch light stripes and 12 inch dark stripes!
Here is the second taping, I tried to do most of the measuring and taping on my own so Jade didn't have to since he was the one painting.
And the finished paint job! I love, love, love it. Jade does like it alot too, but I think he will like it even more as time passes and he forgets about all the extra time and effort this room took him!

Getting the Nursery Ready

I had this crazy idea to do stripes in the nursery. I didn't think about the time and effort it would take to actually do it. Right now we are done with the first three steps and Jade will try to finish the fourth later today. He is really great to do this for me! I'll put up the final paint job as soon as we get it done~wish us luck that it works.
First Step: Priming the room so the aqua blue Kyle had in there would not change the color of the pink we chose.

Second Step: Painting the light pink on all the walls!Third Step: Measuring out stripes and taping them. Jade and I worked for two hours and only got three walls done. We ran out of tape!

What Miley Thinks of the New Furniture

Jade and I bought a new couch and love seat last weekend, so now Miley is banished from sitting with us while we watch TV. Kyle is going to take the old couch with him to his new apartment when he moves out so the couch is sitting in our dining area waiting for the move. Miley has decided that pouting is the best way to show her emotions about the new couches and has taken up residency on the old couch away from us. We find her there all the time - she is a spoiled puppy!

The Baby Shirt

My mom told me that I only put pictures of me in black shirts on the blog - slendering colors. So here is a picture of me in the shirt that makes me look the most pregnant! When I wear it everyone that passes me always chuckles a little - it is really cute.

Halloween

Because I am a teacher I had to dress up and nothing fit in my costume bin so a coworker gave me the pumpkin! I even had a kid in the fifth grade tell me that pumpkins were supposed to be big and fat and I wasn't - bless his little heart!
