We enjoy visiting my mom and dad all the time, but it is especially fun to visit grandma and grandpa in a hotel! McKenna tells other kids that her grandma and grandpa have two houses - a home in Washington and a hotel in California! For our spring break, we decided to head on down to Cali for some much needed sun.
The kids enjoyed crawling in the safe at the hotel!
We found Fashion Island near our hotel in Newport! My kids adore this place. They run around finding the fountains, looking at the fish, and petting the animals in Russo's Pets. I loved getting to go for a nice morning walk each day.
Of course we went to the happiest place on Earth! McKenna got to see her favorite character!
We took the kids to Tom Sawyer Island - it was fun to do something different with the kids. To get to the island, you gather on a raft and stand close together as you go across the water. McKenna was standing on her own between me and a teenage boy. This said boy had his pants fairly low and so McKenna poked his butt! (By the way, that was very embarrassing for her mom!) I apologized and quietly told McKenna that she should not do that to people. Her response was, "But, Mom, his panties are showing!" A few seconds later, the teenager discretely pulled his pants a little higher!
Disneyland is not complete without a ride on the Toy Story Mania. River even scored a couple of thousand points this time around!

We played around at Long Beach. I could sure get used to the weather in California!
We had a wonderful night walking around Balboa Island!
And the kids ran away from the waves with Grandpa at Laguna Beach!
